Jindy by the Sea
15 Jul 2019 - 22 Jul 2019
This annual event for Canberra Region Feltmakers used to be held in Jindabyne but now happens at Tuross. Members can book in to attend for individual nights or the whole retreat. A week of feltmaking in a fun, informal atmosphere. This is not a formal workshop but an opportunity to share ideas, techniques and stories.

While I frantically tried to get some felt made with the upcoming fashion parade in mind, others were talking long walks and checking out the local history including a whale beached in the 1980s and still celebrated. They kept assuring me that they had made LOTS of felt during the week.

Longs for a bit of online fun and to reach out to people. Bronwyn volunteered
to make a pot for our first attempt so we tackled that on Sunday. I was surprised at how easy it was. You just need two people – one to make the felt and one to take bits of video and photos.
I loved the collaborative atmosphere with people sharing ideas and help. Yvonne
designed some shell and felt brooches using shells collected by Liz and
others gave me the courage to make a felt rose adorned wrap kind-of-thing using a metallic silk scarf that has been lurking in my stash for years. This was so much fun and I will definitely do it again. Thanks to Sharyn for organising and
maintaining her sense of humour when we all kept changing our minds and
